To advance to the championship game, Calvert won 1-0 over Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 MCT Shootout in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Calvert finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Calvert defeated Emerson Klimpke (Winnipeg, MB) 8-2, then won 5-4 against Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) and 5-4 against Grassie in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Shootout, Calvert take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 60th place overall with 66.243 total points. Calvert ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.625 points earned so far this season.
