Black finished 3-0 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Black defeated Stacie Curtis (St. John's, NL) 7-4, then won 10-5 against Marg Cutcliffe (Halifax, NS) and 8-2 against Emily Deschenes (Chester, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Tim Hortons Spitfire Arms Cash Spiel Championship title, Black earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 16th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 9.75 after improving upon their best so far this season. Black ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 80.750 points earned so far this season.
