Patty Hersikorn/Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) won 8-5 over Ashley Thevenot/Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the Great Western Mixed Doubles Tour Challenge, held December 16 - 18, 2022 in Martensville, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Hersikorn/Laycock won 9-4 over Brett Barber/Mitch Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) in the semifinals of the 2022 Great Western Mixed Doubles Tour Challenge in Martensville, Saskatchewan; and won 6-5 over Amanda Kuzyk/Ben Gamble (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Great Western Mixed Doubles Tour Challenge in Martensville, Saskatchewan;
 
Hersikorn/Laycock finished 2-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hersikorn/Laycock defeated Samantha Yachiw/Jordan Raymond (Saskatoon, SK) 7-4, then went on to lose 9-6 against Alison Ingram/Cole Tenetuik (North Battleford, SK). Hersikorn/Laycock responded with a 9-3 win over Stephanie Bukurak/Adam Bukurak (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Great Western Mixed Doubles Tour Challenge Championship title, Hersikorn/Laycock earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 20 of the event schedule, Hersikorn/Laycock did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hersikorn/Laycock ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
