In their opening game, Veltsman lost 6-2 to James Pougher (Hawarden, WAL), droppimg another game, 9-5 to Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU). Veltsman lost 8-7 to Andrew Woolston (Kent, ENG). Veltsman lost 10-6 to Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR). Veltsman lost 16-6 to Ireland's John Wilson where Veltsman responded with a 10-4 win over Juraj Gallo (Bratislava, SVK). Veltsman went on to lose 11-4 against Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Veltsman earned 3.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Veltsman did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
