James Pahl (Sherwood Park, AB) lost 7-6 to Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Everest Canadian Senior Men's Curling Championship, held December 4 - 10, 2022 at the Yarmouth Curling Club in Yarmouth, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Pahl won 4-3 over Randy Neufeld (La Salla, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 Everest Canadian Senior Men's Curling Championship in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada;
 
Pahl finished 6-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pahl lost 9-7 to Terry Odishaw (Moncton, NB), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Neufeld where Pahl responded with a 7-5 win over Glen Hudy (Yellowknife, NT). Pahl won 6-2 against Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL), then won 5-4 against Phil Gorveatt (Montague, PEI) and 7-5 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK). Pahl won 7-6 against Francois Roberge (Levis, QC). Pahl went on to lose 7-4 against Wes Craig (Nanaimo, BC). Pahl lost 9-2 to Glen MacLeod (Windsor, NS) where Pahl responded with a 7-6 win over Rajala in their final qualifying round match.
