In their opening game, Breen defeated Laura Eby (Whitehorse, YK) 8-3, then won 10-3 against Shelly Bradley (Cornwall, PEI) and 6-5 against Chantal Osborne (Thurso, QC). Breen won 6-3 against Terry Ursel (Neepawa, MB). Breen went on to lose 8-6 against Sandy Comeau (Moncton, NB). Breen responded with a 7-6 win over Rizzo. Breen won 9-5 against LeAnne Andrews (Langley, BC), then won 7-2 against Diane Foster (Calgary, AB) and 6-1 against Laura Phillips (St. John's, NL). Breen won 9-7 against Anderson in their final qualifying round match.
