Smeltzer finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smeltzer defeated Andrew Gibson (Halifax, NS) 7-0, then won 9-3 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI). Smeltzer went on to lose 7-5 against Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS). Smeltzer responded with a 5-3 win over Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Smeltzer earned 6.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Superstore Monctonian Challenge. Smeltzer move up 12 spots after posting a net gain of 3.197 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 115th overall with 28.162 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
