To advance to the championship game, Edin won 8-4 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Lillehammer, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2023 Sun City Cup in Karlstad, Sweden; and won 7-3 over Fredrik Nyman (Solleftea, SWE) in the quarterfinals.
Edin finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Mats Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE) 8-1, then won 11-2 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) and 10-1 against Jonathan Vilandt (Hvidovre, DEN). Edin won 9-2 against Sweden's Patric Klaremo, then won 7-1 against James Craik (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Sun City Cup Championship title, Edin earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $3,913CDN first prize cheque. For week 30 of the event schedule, Edin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 1st place on the World Ranking Standings with 385.897 total points.
