Asselin finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Asselin defeated Francis Godin (Riviere-du-Loup, QC) 11-3, then won 11-3 against Zackary Wise (Montreal, QC) and 8-4 against Desjardins. Asselin won 7-1 against Roberge in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Hardline Quebec Tankard Championship title, Asselin earned 15.000 world rankings points, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 22nd place overall with 134.044 total points.
