Skylar Ackerman (Saskatoon, SK) lost 8-7 to Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK) in the Final of the SaskTour Womens Players Championship, held January 13 - 15, 2023 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Ackerman won 8-0 over Brooklyn Stevenson (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2023 SaskTour Womens Players Championship in Yorkton, Saskatchewan;
 
Ackerman finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ackerman defeated Lorraine Schneider (Regina, SK) 11-5, then won 6-4 against Jessica Mitchell (Saskatoon, SK). Ackerman went on to lose 6-4 against Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK). Ackerman responded with a 7-0 win over Amber Holland (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the SaskTour Womens Players Championship, Ackerman take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize. Ackerman move up 6 spots after posting a net gain of 14.625 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 43rd overall with 77.579 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Ackerman ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 72.125 points earned so far this season.
