To advance to the championship game, Burns won 12-6 over Jackie McCormick (Stratton, NONT) in the semifinals of the 2023 Unibet Northern Ontario Scotties in Kenora, Ontario;
 
Burns finished 4-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burns defeated Nicole Westlund Stewart (Thunder Bay, NONT) 7-6, then won 12-2 against Hailey Beaudry (Fort Frances, NONT). Burns went on to lose 9-8 against McCormick. Burns responded with a 9-7 win over Jennifer Briscoe (Thunder Bay, NONT). Burns went on to lose 9-2 against McCarville. Burns responded with a 12-2 win over Bella Croisier (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Unibet Northern Ontario Scotties, Burns take home 2.750 world rankings points, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 66th place overall with 47.853 total points. Burns ranks 58th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 47.500 points earned so far this season.
