Michele Jaeggi (Bern, SUI) finished 3-5 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jaeggi lost 10-6 to Raphaela Keiser (St. Moritz, SUI), droppimg another game, 7-2 to Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) where Jaeggi responded with a 7-5 win over Nora Wuest (Wallisellen, SUI). Jaeggi went on to lose 7-6 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI). Jaeggi responded with a 8-2 win over Keiser. Jaeggi went on to lose 7-2 against Huerlimann. Jaeggi responded with a 7-6 win over Tirinzoni. Jaeggi went on to lose 7-6 against Wuest in their final qualifying round match.

Jaeggi earned 3.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
