Balderston finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balderston defeated Ryan Parent (Calgary, AB) 10-3, then won 10-3 against Jordan Lightbown (Beaumont, AB). Balderston went on to lose 8-3 against Aaron Bartling (Drayton Valley, AB). Balderston responded with a 9-1 win over Morgan Muise (Calgary, AB).
