Canada's Mark Ideson finished 9-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Canada's Mark Ideson lost 8-4 to China's Haitao Wang, then responded with a 8-2 win over Czech Republic's Dana Selnekovicova. Canada's Mark Ideson won 6-4 against United States's Steve Emt, then won 7-6 against Latvia's Sergejs Djacenko and 7-4 against Japan's Takashi Sakataya. Canada's Mark Ideson won 10-3 against Norway's Jostein Stordahl, then won 6-4 against Italy's Egidio Marchese and 8-1 against Scotland's Hugh Nibloe. Canada's Mark Ideson went on to lose 7-3 against Korea's Hyeonchul Lee. Canada's Mark Ideson responded with a 13-1 win over Sweden's Viljo Petersson-Dahl. Canada's Mark Ideson won 7-3 against Denmark's Kenneth Oerbaek in their final qualifying round match.
