Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) lost 3-2 to Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) in the Final of the WFG Masters, held December 12 - 17, 2023 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Whyte won 9-4 over Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2023 WFG Masters in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and won 5-2 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the quarterfinals.
 
Whyte finished 2-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR) 8-5, then won 7-3 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Whyte went on to lose 5-4 against Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB). Whyte lost 7-4 to Schwaller in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the WFG Masters, Whyte take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $26,000CDN prize, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 29.5 after improving upon their best so far this season. Whyte ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 239.500 points earned so far this season.
