To advance to the championship game, Schwaller won 5-4 over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-6 over Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Schwaller finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) 5-3, then went on to lose 6-2 against Mooibroek. Schwaller responded with a 8-4 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Schwaller went on to lose 10-6 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Schwaller responded with a 7-2 win over Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
