Schwaller finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) 5-3, then went on to lose 6-2 against Mooibroek. Schwaller responded with a 8-4 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Schwaller went on to lose 10-6 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Schwaller responded with a 7-2 win over Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown Championship title, Schwaller earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN first prize cheque.
