In their opening game, Kean defeated Steve Gregg (Dundas, ON) 12-0, then won 6-4 against Deruelle to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 6-0 against Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stu Sells Port Elgin Superspiel Championship title, Kean earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 46th place overall with 79.937 total points. Kean ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 49.875 points earned so far this season.
