Sturmay finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay lost 6-1 to Clancy Grandy (Vancouver, BC), then responded with a 6-5 win over Minseo Kim (Jeonbuk, KOR). Sturmay won 7-2 against Michelle Hartwell (Sherwood Park, AB), then won 5-3 against Hunkin in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Saville Grand Prix Championship title, Sturmay earned 33.750 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque.
