Kouki Tonuma (Tokyo, JPN) won 7-6 over Kotaro Noguchi (Sendai-shi,Miyagi-ken, JPN) in the Final of the Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup, held June 3 - 4, 2023 in Morioka, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Tonuma won 7-5 over Yuki Asanuma (Morioka, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup in Morioka, Japan;

Tonuma finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tonuma defeated Satoru Tsukamoto (Yamanakako, JPN) 6-5, then went on to lose 6-3 against Noguchi. Tonuma responded with a 5-2 win over Chikara Segawa (Morioka, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Morioka City Mens Memorial Cup Championship title, Tonuma earned 3.750 world rankings points along with the $743CDN first prize cheque, dropping 288 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 288th place overall with 3.750 total points.
