Takuma Makanae (Hokkaido, JPN) needed tiebreakers to advance to the playoffs, Makanae finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . Makanae went on to lose 7-6 against Tsubasa Nakagawa (Hokkaido, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
