Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) qualified for the 2023 HUB International Alberta Curling Series Major playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI). of the 2023 HUB International Alberta Curling Series Major in Beaumont, Alberta, Canada;

Yanagisawa finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Danny Sherrard (Edmonton, AB) 7-0, then went on to lose 3-2 against Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC). Yanagisawa lost 5-3 to Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) where Yanagisawa responded with a 6-1 win over Sherrard. Yanagisawa won 7-6 against Tao, then won 7-5 against de Jong in their final qualifying round match.
