McNamara finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McNamara lost 9-2 to Lewis, then responded with a 6-3 win over Merv McBride (Manotick, ON). McNamara won 11-1 against Denis Martel (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Capital Curling Valley Open Championship title, McNamara earned 3.750 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque.
