CHAMPION: Thunman/Magnusson Wins 2022 SM Mixed Doubles

Rebecka Thunman/Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) won 7-2 over Therese Westman/Robin Ahlberg (Sundyberg, SWE) in the Final of the SM Mixed Doubles, held December 16 - 18, 2022 in Norrkoping, Sweden. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Thunman/Magnusson won 11-0 over Malin Wendel/Fabian Wingfors (Umea, SWE) to advance to the championship game. of the 2022 SM Mixed Doubles in Norrkoping, Sweden;

Thunman/Magnusson finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thunman/Magnusson defeated Alva Sundberg/Axel Yseus (Karlstad, SWE) 9-4, then won 11-2 against Nilla Hallstrom/Johan Engqvist (Harnosands, SWE). Thunman/Magnusson went on to lose 6-4 against Filippa Jillehed/Pontus Persson (Norrkoping, SWE). Thunman/Magnusson responded with a 11-4 win over Sofie Bergman/Fredrik Nyman (Ostersunds, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the SM Mixed Doubles Championship title, Thunman/Magnusson earned 15.000 world rankings points. For week 20 of the event schedule, Thunman/Magnusson did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Thunman/Magnusson ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
