Nathan Young (St. Johns, NL) run at the 2023 U25 NextGen Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-5 loss to Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON).

Young finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young lost 9-0 to Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-2 win over Cole Adams (Calgary, AB). Young went on to lose 7-5 against Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB). Young responded with a 6-2 win over Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB). Young won 7-2 against Jacob Libbus (Okotoks, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Young earned 12.750 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the U25 NextGen Classic, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 50th place overall with 74.250 total points. Young ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.750 points earned so far this season.
