Howard Rajala (Ottawa, CAN) won 7-2 over Graeme Connal (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the World Senior Mens Curling Championship, held April 21 - 29, 2023 in Gangneung, Korea. To advance to the championship game, Rajala won 8-2 over Joel Larway (Seattle, USA) in the semifinals of the 2023 World Senior Mens Curling Championship in Gangneung, Korea; and won 9-1 over Ireland's Bill Gray in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 World Senior Mens Curling Championship in Gangneung, Korea;
 
Rajala finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rajala defeated Hans Peter Schack (Hvidovre, DEN) 12-0, then won 6-1 against Stefan Van Dijck (Zemst, BEL). Rajala went on to lose 8-6 against Gyorgy Nagy (Budapest, HUN). Rajala responded with a 7-4 win over Radek Zdarsky (Prague, CZE). Rajala won 11-2 against Poland's Damian Herman, then won 7-3 against Jussi Uusipaavalniemi (Hyvinkaa, FIN) and 10-3 against Tamotsu Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Rajala ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
