In their opening game, Barber/Heidt defeated Sherry Just/Chad Gareau (Prince Albert, SK) 9-8, then went on to lose 7-1 against Tori Koana/Go Aoki (Karuizawa, JPN). Barber/Heidt responded with a 10-6 win over Stephanie Todd/Kyle Cherpin (Regina, SK). Barber/Heidt went on to lose 6-2 against Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie, ON). Barber/Heidt lost 9-8 to Jennifer Armstrong/Tyrel Griffith (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Barber/Heidt earned 3.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 806th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.134 after improving upon their best so far this season. Barber/Heidt ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.876 points earned so far this season.
