Koana/Aoki finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koana/Aoki defeated Kristin Moen Skaslien/Magnus Nedregotten (Oslo, NOR) 10-4, then won 8-1 against Laura Walker/Kirk Muyres (Edmonton, AB) and 9-3 against Lauren Wasylkiw/Shane Konings (Stouffville, ON).
