Laura Walker/Kirk Muyres (Edmonton, AB) won 7-6 over Taylor Reese-Hansen/Corey Chester (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the Alberta Curling Series Mixed Doubles - Event 1, held November 24 - 26, 2023 at the Beaumont Curling Club in Beaumont, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Walker/Muyres won 8-4 over Anna Munroe/Steven Leong (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2023 Alberta Curling Series Mixed Doubles - Event 1 in Beaumont, Alberta, Canada; and won 9-2 over Margot Flemming/Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT) in the quarterfinals.
 
Walker/Muyres finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walker/Muyres defeated Roxie Trembath/Scott McCamis (Winnipeg, MB) 9-7, then won 9-5 against Brittany Tran/Bradley Thiessen (Airdrie, AB) and 8-4 against Jessica Wytrychowski/Michael Dumont (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Alberta Curling Series Mixed Doubles - Event 1 Championship title, Walker/Muyres earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $1,800CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -20.876 after improving upon their best so far this season. Walker/Muyres ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 74.314 points earned so far this season.
