Fellmann/Kovalchuk finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fellmann/Kovalchuk defeated Josee Tremblay/Pierre Tremblay (Montreal, QC) 9-2, then won 8-6 against Veronique Bouchard/Jean-Francois Charest (Chicoutimi, QC) and 8-5 against Olivia Wynter/Cameron Sallaj (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
