Manuel Jermann (Basel, SUI) finished 7-1 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jermann lost 5-4 to Loris Caccivio (Basel, SUI), then responded with a 8-7 win over Milan Spotti (Aarau, SUI). Jermann won 9-8 against Kim Schwaller (Zug, SUI), then won 6-3 against Lars Brauchli (Wildhaus, SUI) and 8-6 against Gian Fadri Jaecklin (Baden, SUI). Jermann won 8-4 against Caccivio, then won 9-4 against Schwaller and 6-2 against Brauchli in their final qualifying round match.
