To advance to the championship game, Sluchinski won 6-2 over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals
 
Sluchinski finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sluchinski defeated Andrew Dunbar (Edmonton, AB) 10-3, then won 5-2 against Jacob Libbus (Okotoks, AB). Sluchinski went on to lose 6-5 against Casper in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curling Stadium Alberta Tour Kick-off Championship title, Sluchinski earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 19th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 174.625 total points. Sluchinski ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.500 points earned so far this season.
