Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) qualified for the 2023 DEKALB Superspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2023 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;

Purcell finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Purcell defeated Connor Kauffman (Blaine, MN) 7-0, then won 9-3 against Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 5-4 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) to drop into a B-Qualifier game where they lost 7-3 to Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they where Purcell responded with a 8-4 win over Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
