Arsenault finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Arsenault defeated Munroe 7-2, then won 7-4 against Simon Hebert (Valleyfield, QC) and 11-3 against P.N. Raju (Hyderabad, IN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Invitation Valleyfield Championship title, Arsenault earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque.
