Emily Bowles (Victoria, BC) lost 5-3 to Kristen Ryan (Maple Ridge, BC) in the Final of the Island Shootout, held November 10 - 13, 2023 at the Victoria Curling Club in Victoria, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Bowles won 8-4 over Steph Jackson-Baier (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals
 
Bowles finished 4-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bowles defeated Holly Hafeli (Kamloops, BC) 8-6, then won 6-4 against Jackson-Baier and 7-1 against Kelly Ellis (Richmond, BC). Bowles won 7-4 against Roselyn Craig (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Island Shootout, Bowles take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize. Bowles move up 50 spots after posting a net gain of 2.328 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 180th overall with 4.812 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Bowles ranks 156th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.125 points earned so far this season.
