Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK) run at the 2023 MCT Challenge came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-1 loss to Honoka Sasaki (Kitami, JPN).

Barker finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barker defeated Zhuo Han (HARBIN, CHN) 2-0, then won 7-3 against Lisa McLeod (Winnipeg, MB). Barker went on to lose 5-4 against Sasaki in their final qualifying round match.

Barker earned 7.250 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the MCT Challenge, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 35th place overall with 107.750 total points. Barker ranks 53rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.250 points earned so far this season.
