Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) won 8-3 over Jed Brundidge (Chaska, MN) in the Final of the MCT Challenge, held September 8 - 10, 2023 at the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Grassie won 5-2 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals
 
Grassie finished 1-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grassie lost 6-5 to Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN), then responded with a 6-5 win over Riley Smith (Winnipeg, MB). Grassie went on to lose 5-4 against Brundidge in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the MCT Challenge Championship title, Grassie earned 7.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 115th place overall with 27.375 total points. Grassie ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.500 points earned so far this season.
