Benson finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Benson defeated Megan Stopera (Wayland, MA) 10-0, then won 8-0 against Elizabeth Cousins (Nashua, NH) and 5-3 against Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND). Benson went on to lose 7-4 against Despins in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Duluth Cash Spiel Championship title, Benson earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $4,308CDN first prize cheque, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 46.517 total points.
