Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) lost 6-3 to Miori Nakamura (Aomori, JPN) in the Final of the New Year Curling in Miyota 2024, held December 29 - January 1, 2024 at the Miyota Curling Club in Miyota, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Yoshimura won 6-3 over Miyu Ueno (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 New Year Curling in Miyota 2024 in Miyota, Japan, Japan;

Yoshimura finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Kai Tsuchiya (Miyota, JPN) 12-8, then won 7-4 against Mayu Minami (Sapporo, JPN) and 9-3 against Delaney Strouse (Traverse City, MI). Yoshimura won 7-3 against Yui Ozeki (Tokyo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the New Year Curling in Miyota 2024, Yoshimura take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $5,553CDN prize, remaining in 19th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -1.836 after improving upon their best so far this season. Yoshimura ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 127.500 points earned so far this season.
