Miori Nakamura (Aomori, JPN) won 6-3 over Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) in the Final of the New Year Curling in Miyota 2024, held December 29 - January 1, 2024 at the Miyota Curling Club in Miyota, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Nakamura won 8-3 over Yui Ozeki (Tokyo, JPN) in the semifinals
 
Nakamura finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nakamura defeated Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) 10-5, then won 9-3 against Kotoka Segawa (Morioka, JPN) and 6-2 against Miyu Ueno (Karuizawa, JPN). Nakamura won 7-6 against Yumi Suzuki (Tokyo , JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the New Year Curling in Miyota 2024 Championship title, Nakamura earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $9,255CDN first prize cheque. Nakamura move up 8 spots after posting a net gain of 14.414 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 38th overall with 85.047 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Nakamura ranks 31st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 76.375 points earned so far this season.
