Smith went on to lose 8-2 against Kyle Kurz (Winnipeg, MB). Smith lost 7-2 to Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT) where Smith responded with a 9-6 win over Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB). Smith went on to lose 6-4 against Charlie Sullivan (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
