To advance to the championship game, Hirata won 4-3 over Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 ARGO GRAPHICS Cup in Kitami, Japan, Japan;
 
Hirata finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hirata defeated Japan's Kantaro Kawano 8-3, then won 6-2 against Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN) and 7-1 against Morozumi. Hirata went on to lose 7-4 against Ryo Aoki (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the ARGO GRAPHICS Cup, Hirata take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $500,000CDN prize. Hirata move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 10.062 points improving upon their best 2 results so far this season, ranking 43rd overall with 88.625 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
