Homan/Bottcher finished 6-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan/Bottcher defeated Paige Papley/Evan Van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) 8-2, then won 6-2 against Anne Sophie Gionest/Robert Desjardins (Saguenay, QC) and 7-3 against Jessica Zheng/Victor Pietrangelo (Niagara Falls, ON). Homan/Bottcher won 11-4 against Laura Walker/Kirk Muyres (Edmonton, AB). Homan/Bottcher went on to lose 7-6 against Brittany Tran/Rylan Kleiter (Calgary, AB). Homan/Bottcher responded with a 8-3 win over Nancy Martin/Steve Laycock (Saskatoon , SK). Homan/Bottcher won 6-4 against Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials, Homan/Bottcher take home 38.500 world rankings points.
