Flanagan finished 4-0 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Flanagan defeated Ben Kinney (Naseby, NZL) 11-5, then won 9-3 against Cao and 5-3 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Flanagan won 8-1 against Nevill in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the New Zealand Junior National Championships Championship title, Flanagan earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 284 spots the World Ranking Standings into 287th place overall with 3.750 total points.
