CHAMPION: Andersson/Granbom Wins 2024 Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup

Isabell Andersson/Simon Granbom (Gavle, SWE) won 6-5 over Adela Walczak/Andrzej Augustyniak (Lodz, POL) in the Final of the Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup, held January 25 - 28, 2024 in Gavle, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Andersson/Granbom won 7-6 over Oihane Otaegi/Mikel Unanue (San Sebastian, ESP) in the semifinals of the 2024 Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup in Gavle, Sweden; and won 7-6 over Switzerland's Laura Engler/Kevin Wunderlin in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup in Gavle, Sweden;

Andersson/Granbom finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Andersson/Granbom lost 7-6 to Otaegi/Unanue, droppimg another game, 11-5 to Walczak/Augustyniak where Andersson/Granbom responded with a 8-2 win over Emelie Saren/Alexander Palm (Harnosand, SWE). Andersson/Granbom won 7-2 against Linnea Nilsson/Simon Olofsson (Uppsala, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup Championship title, Andersson/Granbom earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 27 of the event schedule, Andersson/Granbom did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Andersson/Granbom ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
