Avena/Avotins finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Avena/Avotins defeated Dace Regza/Ansis Regza (Riga, LAT) 10-6, then won 12-2 against Katerina Lerlova/David Havlena (Prague, CZE) and 10-5 against Paulina Hajduk/Jan Horacek (Bratislava, SVK).
