Koana/Aoki finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koana/Aoki defeated Agate Regza/Kriss Vonda (Riga, LAT) 9-3, then won 10-6 against Katrina Gaidule/Roberts Buncis (Riga, LAT) and 7-2 against Evita Regza/Aleksandrs Baranovskis (Riga, LAT).
