To advance to the championship game, Martin/Laycock won 8-5 over Melissa Remeshylo/Dylan Derksen (Martensville, SK) in the semifinals of the 2023 Sask Curling Tour Mixed Doubles Midweek Kick-off in Saskatoon;
 
Martin/Laycock finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin/Laycock defeated Renee Wood/Dominic Barlow (Saskatoon, SK) 6-3, then won 9-5 against Rianna Kish/Bryden Tessier (Saskatoon, SK) and 9-8 against Remeshylo/Derksen in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Sask Curling Tour Mixed Doubles Midweek Kick-off Championship title, Martin/Laycock earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque.
