Takanori Ichimura (Nagano, JPN) lost 10-4 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Chubu Curling Championships, held January 12 - 15, 2023 in Chubu, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Ichimura won 5-4 over Japan's Hiroki Hara in the semifinals of the 2023 Chubu Curling Championships in Chubu, Japan;

Ichimura finished 3-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ichimura defeated Daisuke Kobayashi (Karuizawa, JPN) 13-4, then won 13-4 against Japan's Shinichi Tokuyama and 5-3 against Kazuya Uehara (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Chubu Curling Championships, Ichimura take home 5.500 world rankings points.
