Kanai finished 5-0 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kanai defeated Japan's Yui Miyagawa 9-1, then won 11-2 against Yuko Kikuchi (Karuizawa, JPN) and 8-5 against Takimoto. Kanai won 9-2 against Japan's Arina Ikeda, then won 9-2 against Japan's Akemi Kawahara in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Chubu Curling Championships Championship title, Kanai earned 3.750 world rankings points, remaining in 59th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 3 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kanai ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 49.625 points earned so far this season.
