Sonobe/Ogihara lost 7-4 to Kohane Tsuruga/Takaaki Minami (Sapporo, JPN) where Sonobe/Ogihara responded with a 8-6 win over Japan's Tamami Horiuchi/Takahito Tomiyasu in their final qualifying round match.
